Brief Central Park hawk nest fortification - February 23, 2012

I had a fifteen minute window to see and photograph the southeastern Central Park red-tailed hawks. I followed one that was soaring back and forth from the Crown Building to the park.

It was carrying a large piece of dark, stiff material. It looked a bit like roofing tar paper.

Here is the view of the hawk flying over Bergdorf Goodman department store (58th Street side):

I walked over to the 57th Street side to capture the sight of the hawk flying to the nest.

Success without a minute to spare:

I had hoped to get further down the street to get a better vantage point of the nest from the ground but I took what I could get.
